Psychology: Academic Writing

Current situation

At the moment the Learning Enhancement Team is offering support online or by phone.

We can help you to write in the appropriate academic style using vocabulary suitable for your subject area so that you can communicate effectively in different academic contexts. We can also support you with the mathematics, statistics or numeracy that you need in your university course or to prepare for employment.

We can help you in person in tutorials, workshops or drop-in sessions. We also have a range of online resources to help you develop your skills.

Help with Academic Writing

Paula Bernaschina is the Academic Writing Lecturer for the School of Science and Technology.

Based in the Learning Enhancement Team (LET) in The Sheppard Library, she can help you excel in your academic communication, whether this is in written assignments or oral presentations, as well as using information effectively and ethically in your work.

Academic Reading

Reading is a common part of university life - and if you want to do well at university, you can't escape doing a lot of reading; and unfortunately, some of the texts you'll need to read at university can sometimes be "challenging"! However, there are ways to develop your reading skills to make reading less challenging and more enjoyable.
