Overview:

• Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC), Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals (BFF), are self-paced e-learning certification courses that provide a visual/interactive introduction to the financial markets, to a set of behaviours used by socially conscious companies and an insight and overview of the fundamentals of the financial system

• BMC consists of three separate courses but only those with a certificate icon  are required to gain a certificate 
  • Core Concepts (Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income, & Equities)
  • Portfolio Management
  • Terminal Basics

• ESG is similarly constructed but has 7 compulsory modules
  • Introduction to ESG
  • Researching and Adopting ESG
  • Negative Screening and Positive Screening
  • ESG Integration - Equities
  • ESG Integration - Fixed Income
  • Corporate Governance and Shareholder Activism
  • Reporting Sustainability Activities

• BFF is the newly released certification offering from Bloomberg.  It will look at:
  • Why do people invest?
  • How do people invest?
  • What are the risks and rewards of investment?
  • When do people invest and do they withdraw?
  • What kinds of careers exist for students wanting to work in the financial markets

• All courses are assessed and result in certification on completion: as well as a physical certificate, certification is automatically linked to your Linked-in Account

• The Market Concepts Certification course requires a combination of financial market knowledge, Bloomberg terminal skills and Bloomberg functions knowledge.  A more detailed breakdown of the course is available HERE

• The Environmental Social and Governance course requires knowledge of ESG strategies, reports for regulators and ESG investment decision making. A more detailed breakdown of the course is available HERE

• The Bloomberg Financial Fundamentals looks at personal finance, investment strategies and financial career paths.  A more detailed breakdown of the course is available HERE

• Once completed, you will be able to search the Bloomberg Employment database and send your CV to companies who are searching for interns and graduate-entry employees

BMC/ESG/BFF Certificate

Your BMC/ESG/BFF certificate is issued on completion.  To earn the Bloomberg Certificate , you must complete all course with the certificate icon 

Overview:

• Datastream is a professional-standard financial database

• Achieving certified status allows you to prove that you have achieved a certain standard of proficiency on a platform that is used by financiers, bankers and traders

• Course Outline:
  • Getting Started - simple charts, searching for financial data and using formulas 
  • Chart Settings - creating a chart and your own house style
  • Chart Annotations - access and create your own such as standard deviation lines and recession bands
  • Functions and Expressions -  apply a range of functions and expressions to your charts and excel formulas

  • Take the Datastream Prep-test
  • The exam can be taken twice
  • The exam itself consists of 30 multiple-choice questions
  • You have 60 minutes to complete the exam
  • Results are instant and a certificate will be emailed to you on the day

Datastream Certification Prep-Test

The DCP-T is designed to mimic the sorts of questions you may be asked during the exam.  Take the mock as many times as you like but bare in mind that this is a timed exam so time yourself as-well.

• The Academy is a new, self-paced, online training programme designed to give you a broad introduction to the main features of Capital IQ Pro

• Each module has a similar format: video demonstration followed by a quick quiz to demonstrate your understanding

• On completion of the learning path, a certificate is issued for your Linked-In profile

• To begin:
  • Login to the S&P CIQ Pro platform
  • Click on the question mark in the top right hand corner of your screen
  • Click on the link: Cap IQ Pro Academy to launch
  • You will proceed through a learning path of 10 modules which become increasingly challenging
  • Each module must be taken in order as they build progressively on knowledge learnt in previous modules
• CIQ Pro Certification can be added to your LinkedIn CV

• Master the basics of Banking and Ratings-Direct and earn your 101 Certification for each of these two new certifications from CIQ Pro Academy
