Finding Current Events and News Resources

News resources supplement business resources with up-to-date, factual information.

Information from news resources needs to be critically evaluated, as it can contain bias which invalidates its credibility. We recommend that you use the resources recommended by the library.

To access, you need to create your own account. Download the guide below to find out how to do this. has in-depth information on companies, industries, countries, and current events.

Accessing The Times and Sunday Times through Factiva

The Times and Sunday Times news articles are accessible through the Factiva news database.

If you want to find news articles from these publications, you need to use the Search Builder. You can access this from the top menu bar on the Factiva homepage.

On the Search Builder page, expand the Source section. Type into the search bar in the Sources section  The Times or Sunday Times. Click on the suggestions that pop up to add to your filters.

Type your search keywords (e.g. Twitter or Social Media) into the Free Text Search Bar at the top of the page and click on search.
