Public Health, Risk, Safety & Environment: Referencing and Plagiarism

Referencing and Citation Style: Natural Sciences

When preparing a report, extended essay, dissertation or thesis you need to consult the published literature: books, journal articles, electronic resources etc.

It's very important to learn how to reference your work and acknowledge your sources correctly. If you don't, you could be accused of plagiarism and are likely to get a poor mark.

Cite them right online is the referencing standard for Natural Sciences.  It will help you to reference just about any source (be it print, electronic or performance), and to understand the importance of referencing accurately.

Avoiding plagiarism

The following guide contains useful information about what plagiarism is and how to avoid it.
