The Library subscribes to thousands of academic journals and magazines (print and electronic).
Magazines are usually aimed at a profession, business or interest; and contain articles, news, job adverts, new product reviews, events and advertising.
Academic journals focus on a specific subject area and contain detailed articles, papers and research. The articles are often peer-reviewed, so have been assessed for quality by experts prior to publication.
You can search for journal articles by using Library Search, or by searching subject specific journal databases.
You also have access to 650+ UK International, European, UK and regional newspapers through Global Newsstream (see link below).
The majority of our journals are available electronically only. Any journal still kept as a printed copy are held on the 1st Floor Wing of the Library.
New York Public Library has created a detailed catalogue of its major dance collection which is freely available over the internet. Choose 'Performing Arts Dance Research' from the drop-down Collections menu on the 'Search the Catalog' page. The catalogue includes an index to articles in NYPL's extensive collection of dance journals. It does not provide any links to full-text articles but does act as an extremely useful index to dance journals which can be checked to see if they are held in Middlesex University Library. It is therefore an important research tool.
