Law and Legal Research: Law at Mauritius

Middlesex University Library Mauritius

Law Library

Within the Library, the Law Library occupies a separate room  with law resources and seating for law students. There are study cubicles for silent study, PCs and WiFi for laptop use. There is also a group study room.

LLB Programme

If you want to practise law as a solicitor or barrister, or to enter some other law-related form of employment, then the LLB Honours Law degree is your best choice. It is the only undergraduate course that offers a qualifying law degree for exemption from the academic stage of professional legal education, recognised by the Joint Academic Stage Board of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Bar Standards Board (BSB).

Career Opportunities

Students who graduate with at least 2:2 can apply to study the Legal Practice Course (the next stage towards becoming a solicitor) or the Bar Vocational Course (the next stage towards becoming a barrister). Many law graduates also pursue other courses.
