Aviation Library Guide: Google Scholar

What is Google Scholar?

Google Scholar is a search engine, which finds academic resources across the web.

Note: As Google Scholar searches the whole web, you need to add Middlesex University to your Library Links (see below). If you don't set up Library Links, you will find that websites instruct you to pay for resources that are freely available through Middlesex Library.

Setting up Google Scholar for Searching

Library Links enables you to access resources on Google Scholar that are available through Middlesex University Library catalogue.

Make sure you have logged into myUniHub before accessing articles with Library Links.

To set up Library Links on Google Scholar:

  1. Click on the three bars in the top-left hand corner and select Settings at the bottom of the list.
  2. Select Library Links in the Settings menu.
  3. This will show a search bar. Type Middlesex University into the search bar and search.
  4. Tick Middlesex University - Hendon - Full-Text@Middlesex and then save.
  5. When you search on Google Scholar, if an article is available through Middlesex Library, you will see a FullText@Middlesex link on the right-hand side.
  6. Click on this Fulltext@Middlesex link, not the article's title.
