The Library subscribes to thousands of academic journals and magazines (print and electronic).

Magazines are usually aimed at a profession, business or interest; and contain articles, news, job adverts, new product reviews, events and advertising.

Academic journals focus on a specific subject area and contain detailed articles, papers and research.  The articles are often peer-reviewed, so have been assessed for quality by experts prior to publication.

Citation Indexes such as Web of Science also help you discover the impact of journal articles.

You can search for journal articles in a number of ways: Using Library Search, searching subject specific journal databases or using open access resources (see links below).

Conference Proceedings

Conference Proceedings are collections of academic papers (print or electronic format) presented at conferences which have been written by experts, academics, and researchers.

They provide the latest ideas and research on a subject.

The Library provides access to many conference proceedings, which can be easily accessed using Library Search (see link below for help):

You can access 650+ UK International, European, UK and regional newspapers through Global Newsstream (one of our Journal Databases).

They can also be accessed using Library Search.
