If the material you require for your studies or research is not held by the Sheppard Library or available via its electronic resources, the Inter-Library Loans service is here to help you. We work with the British Library and other University libraries both in the UK and abroad, to obtain the books* or articles you require.
*Books on Inter-Library Loan must be collected from and returned to the library in person. For this reason, book requests can only be accepted from UK registered students and staff, who are able to collect from and return items to the Library in person. Electronic delivery of book chapters may be possible.
*Due to the COVID-19 situation, we are working from home and currently unable to arrange the loan of physical items. We are however still able to offer a document supply service for articles and book chapters.
The £3 administrative charge (UK) usually applicable to requests from Undergraduate, taught postgraduate (including MA, MSc, MProf) and MA/MSc by Research students is suspended for the time being. This applies to all requests processed after 15/03/2020. Charges incurred before this date, including lost item replacement charges, will stand.
The service is available to all registered Middlesex University students and UK staff with a current library registration.
If you are a distance learner and need to borrow books from Middlesex University Library stock, please see our information on Postal Loans.
If you have used the service before, please click on the Clioweb button below to log in and submit your request. If your request is for a commercial purpose or sharing with colleagues, please read the copyright section below and ensure that you select the Copyright Cleared Material Request form from the 'New Request' drop down menu in order to submit your request.
