UniHelp Desk LibGuide 2018/19

Who we are

As a front line service serving a diverse range of students, we recognise the diversity in the UniHelp Desk team as a strength.

Our team comprises of 24 people with cultural heritages originating from all over the world including Hong Kong, Kenya, Greece, Somalia, Cyprus, Pakistan, Macedonia, Bangladesh, Poland and England.  The team also includes people of many faiths such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Paganism, Spiritualism and Druidism.  We have fluent speakers of multiple languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Urdu, Polish, Punjabi, Hindi, Swahili, Konkani, French, Serbo-Croatian, Greek, Macedonian, Spanish, Swedish and Makaton.

Members of our team have lived, worked and studied all over the world.  We have team members that are current MDX students and MDX Alumni.  Members of the team are qualified in Advice and Guidance, English Literature, Librarianship, and Management and graduates in Modern Languages, LLB Law, Theatre Studies, Fashion, Social Policy, Criminology, Cultural & Creative Industries and Computer Science as well as post graduates in Business Administration, Human Resources, Hellenic Hellenistic Near East studies, Finance Accounting and Cancer Research. Our team also contains people with disabilities and members of the LGBT community; we have a variety of learning styles, leadership styles and management styles all of which adds to our identity.  We share and celebrate our diversity and we use our wealth of experience and experiences to provide an inclusive service to all our students.

We are diverse and united in a common purpose, supporting students to reach their potential.
