The Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture (MoDA) is an excellent resource for your studies in Art and Design.
Our collections of textiles, wallpapers, graphic design and illustration are very helpful for generating ideas, getting inspired, and for research. You can get to see and handle objects close-up and take as many photographs as you require for your own reference.
We are a 10 minute walk from Hendon campus. Visits are by appointment only, so email moda@mdx.ac.uk to make an appointment, or just to chat about your ideas and how MoDA might be useful.
Take a look at this reading list which list publications that reference specific items from MoDA's collections or which reference or acknowledge the museum in general. Includes articles, monographs, PhD theses, exhibition catalogues, memoirs and creative non-fiction.
All the books in MoDA's collections are listed on Middlesex University's Library Search. Books cannot be borrowed but you are very welcome to make an appointment to see them, and we may be able to find other things to interest you at the same time.
