Fika, Big White Wall and UNIHEADS are online wellbeing platforms which are free and accessible to you throughout your time with us at MDX.

You can work on your mental fitness skills with Fika (confidence, positivity, focus, connection, meaning, motivation and stress management); explore wider topics such as how to present with confidence, how to ace a work placement, or to take a self-help course on topics such as health anxiety or smoking cessation with Big White Wall; and take a training course in mental health and supporting friends with UNIHEADS.

Fika is an evidence based mental fitness app which is inspired by Scandinavian culture and draws on scientific evidence from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Positive Psychology to build emotional fitness.

Download on the App Store or Google Play to access short and snappy 5 minute workouts to improve your confidence, motivation, positivity, employability, focus, sleep and to decrease stress. Use your MDX email address to unlock all premium features and content for free.

You’ll find content delivered by other MDX students, as well as some famous faces such as some renowned GB athletes.

UNIHEADS

UNIHEADS is a free 20 minute mental health training course. You’ll learn how to look after your wellbeing and mental health, how to support a friend who might be struggling, learn how to stay well in light of Covid-19 and be signposted to university and SU resources and support. You can start the course and come back to it at any time.

Big White Wall

As an MDX student you have free access to Big White Wall;  a well-established online platform that gives you the opportunity to connect emotionally and anonymously with others, in a safe forum with 24/7 moderation by trained professionals.

Accessible any time of the day or night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Big White Wall has a range of resources and programmes to enable you to express yourself in any way you choose.

For example there is art and/or music therapy, self-help materials to explore your feelings and improve your own wellbeing, or simply a space to get things off your chest.

Whether you are thriving, surviving, or striving, there is something for every member of the #TeamMDX community.

Here are just some of the opportunities and highlights that you can tap into straight away:
