The purpose of the Art in the Library scheme is to make the Sheppard Library at the Hendon campus more exciting and inspiring by bringing students' creative work into the space. We borrow work from art and design graduates for a year or more to display around the library. This makes the walls more interesting and give artists an opportunity to show their talents in a busy area where there is a high footfall of visitors.
The art works are usually chosen from the final art and design shows which take place in the Grove and around the campus at Hendon, and previously at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane and other venues.
The project began in 2013 and has continued to flourish, also extending to other Library and Student Support areas on the campus such Sunny Hill House where the Wellbeing Services are based.
This guide gives further information about the artists and their work with contact details if you would like to know more.
