MoDA’s Silver Studio Collection includes four hundred Japanese katagami. These are traditional Japanese resist-printing stencils for textiles. They are a great source of inspiration for students.
Between autumn 2016 and spring 2018 MoDA ran a research project with a focus on katagami as a source of inspiration for artists and designers, both historically and today.
