Art in the Library: Elfride Delavega

Elfride has lent three of her framed photographic prints to the Sheppard Library. She writes,

"Black Gold is an on-going project of the coal mining industry in Jiu Valley Romania. Three mines were documented from October 2016 to February 2017.

The coal mining industry in the Hunedoarra County is the main income for over half the region... Due to a lack of investment and planned closures by the government the industry is slowly deteriorating and the workers do not know when their last day at work will be."
