What is RSS?

  • RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’ or ‘Rich Site Summary’
  • It is a piece of technology which collects the latest additions from RSS enabled websites and delivers them to your desktop
  • The items of information gathered via RSS can be viewed in an RSS ‘reader’ or ‘aggregator’, such as Bloglines

See the BBC's information page about RSS feeds for more information.
