It is an opportunity for students to have a conversation with our experts (Human Books) from Library and Student Support around a range of academic and wellbeing topics.
The event uses the familiar framework of a library: you borrow the Human Books from our pop-up library issue desk in the Quad, have a conversation, then return them so that they can be borrowed by another student.
The Human Books are real people from around the University who have knowledge, expertise and skills to share with you in a wide range of academic and wellbeing areas or have succeeded as MDX graduates.
Yes we recommend that you do. You can book online at the link below. Online booking will close at midnight on Wed 8th Nov. You can also reserve a book in person in the Quad during the Student Success Festival events from Monday 6th November or during the Human Book event itself on Thursday 9th Nov from 1pm.
It is fine for a small group to borrow a book together (max 3 people). To do this one person in the group will need to reserve the book either in advance or at the event.
What time do I need to arrive at the event if I have reserved a book?
The event is running between12 noon -2 pm on 13th March. You can come to the whole event or just for your appointment. Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment and report to the event Issue Desk in the Quad.
You can ask any questions based on the book's abstract. Further questions may occur to you as you chat to your book, however the book has the right not to answer a question if they wish.
Do I have to borrow my Human Book for the whole appointment time?
